We understand that that the world cannot exist without story, and we are the storytellers.
We understand that research equals change and that our roles are not only to be artists for artistic sake or to be educators of the next generation of performing artists and arts workers, but also that we are creative change agents in a connected system. As such we are invested in working collaboratively within, across, and beyond the institution to use our skills to foster innovation and social benefit.
WAAPA research will grow our reach in understanding what research into the performing and creatives arts can mean in the 21st century. We will collaborate across disciplines so that we might tackle global, ‘wicked’ problems, together. We are an interactive ecology (within the University, across the Higher Education sector, with the local, national and international art and cultural industries) therefore we collaborate and champion relationality.
