Everyman is successful, popular and riding high when Death comes calling. Forced to abandon the vacuous life he has built, he embarks on a last, frantic search to recruit a friend, anyone, to speak in his defence. But Death is close behind, and time is running out. Carol Ann Duffy’s stunning update of the medieval morality play is a scathing assault on the myopic materialism of the modern age and a reminder of the importance of our choices in life.
Please note: Part of the charm of The Edith Spiegeltent is the natural light that streams in from its many stained-glass windows. Patrons attending the 2.00pm matinee on Sat 9 November are advised that this natural light will impact the performance’s stage lighting.
