Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is the assessment of individual competencies. RPL can provide candidates, who do not require formal learning, with a process to have their skills and knowledge assessed against competencies stipulated in a National Training Package or Accredited Course. An RPL information brochure is available from ECU Student Services.
Where students have previously been determined as competent in a nationally endorsed qualification, skill set or unit of competency. Students may apply for credit of previous studies within the same or similar industry they are applying for or studying at WAAPA. Candidates need to supply qualifications and record of results or Statements of Attainment from an appropriate institution. All previous studies should be stated on the WAAPA application form.
