You’ve successfully completed CUA50420 – Diploma of Live Production and Technical Services, and have a solid understanding of the many backstage roles that go into putting on a show. It’s now time to specialise in your chosen study option: Production Design.

CUA60220 – Advanced Diploma of Live Production and Management Services offers a second, more intense year of study where you’ll focus on the skills required to be a production designer.

This Production Arts specialisation provides in-depth training in designing sets and costumes for live production, including theatre, opera, dance and music theatre. You’ll undertake classes in drawing, model making, scenic painting, vision design and computer-aided design. Design projects for sets, props and costumes will strengthen your visualisation and research skills.

Working with industry directors and choreographers on WAAPA performances, you’ll develop practical experience in set and costume design roles on live productions, ready for a design-related career in the entertainment industry.
