Luke is the Course Coordinator for Stage Management at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.
Luke is a director, producer, curator, designer, arts manager and educator.
A graduate of Stage Management at WAAPA in 1999, Luke was the Production Manager for Black Swan Theatre Company for four years, working on over thirty productions including regional, national and overseas tours. He was also the founding Artistic Director of Black Swan’s youth company, BSX-Theatre.
In 2004 Luke moved to Sydney to study Directing at NIDA.
From 2005 - 2007 he was the Production Manager for Australian Theatre for Young People, working on a variety of productions and tours and from 2007-2009 was Associate Artistic Director of Tamarama Rock Surfers Theatre Company. For the company Luke produced, directed and designed a number of successful productions.
In 2008 Luke worked with Playwriting Australia as the Event Producer for the inaugural National Play Festival and Company Manager for the National Script Workshop.
Luke was the founding Artistic Director and CEO of Critical Stages, having previously been the initiative’s Producer. For Critical Stages he produced many large-scale national tours with Australia’s leading independent theatre makers.
From 2014-2016 Luke was the Associate Producer at Belvoir, managing the Artistic and Programming department and producing work throughout the company’s season, national and international tours.
Since 2017 Luke has been the Course Coordinator of Stage Management at WAAPA, returning to run the course from which he graduated. He oversees and lectures within the course as well as across other disciplines within the school.
