Rick is a Lecturer at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.

Background

Rick Brayford has a twenty year involvement with Australian contemporary Indigenous theatre and performance. He has directed over thirty productions and has been extensively involved in the facilitation and creation of new Indigenous work. Rick has a wide ranging history as an acting teacher and mentor including three years in Broome heading the Western Australian Academy of Performing Art’s Aboriginal Music Theatre course. He currently coordinates the Aboriginal Performance program at WAAPA in Perth. Rick is recipient of the Neville Bonner Award for Indigenous Education for his contribution to Indigenous performing arts.
