ABOUT ACCESSIBILITY The W3C defines accessibility as "Content is accessible when it may be used by someone with a disability." With this in mind we have done our best to to ensure that the WAAPA Website is compliant with the specifications set out by the W3C in regards to accessibility, CSS and XHTML compliancy. If you feel that any component of this site does not meet the requirements please feel free to contact us and we will do our best to rectify the issue. The WAAPA Website has been checked for its accessibility using the 'bobby' accessibility engine and has achieved a bobby "AAA" level accessibility rating. "Bobby is a comprehensive web accessibility software tool designed to help expose and repair barriers to accessibility and encourage compliance with existing accessibility guidelines. Bobby tests for compliance with government standards, including the U.S. Government's Section 508. It offers prioritized suggestions based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines provided by the World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C) Web Access Initiative. Bobby allows developers to test web pages and generate summary reports highlighting critical accessibility issues before posting content to live servers. Bobby tests web pages using the guidelines established by the World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C) Web Access Initiative (WAI), as well as Section 508 guidelines from the Architectural and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board (Access Board) of the U.S. Federal Government." 27 May 2005: We recently received some great feedback from visitor Stuart Cruickshank regarding the accessibility of the WAAPA website. Stuart has suggested some changes to the website which we will take onboard for the second stage of the website development scheduled to begin in August 2005. We appreciate all feedback we receive and look forward to more feedback from any visitor in the future.
In addition the WAAPA Website has also been checked to ensure it conforms to valid XHTML and CSS. Using the W3C validator services this site has accheived a W3C level 1.0 XHTML compliance rating and has also met the requirements of W3C CSS validation service. W3C has over 350 Member organizations from all over the world and has earned international recognition for its contributions to the growth of the Web. .
BROWSERS The WAAPA website has been tested on most of today's leading graphical web browsers. To ensure that you can view the full splendor of the WAAPA Website, your browser should display a minimum resolution of 800 * 600 pixels, with at least 65,000 colours.
